Manned Guarding
Professional manned guarding, built around your premises
Trained security officers remain the foundation of most security plans. Magnetic provides specialised manned guarding, front-office security officers, tally officers and security project managers, deployed against assignment instructions written for your site.
Typical security challenges
- Unauthorised or unrecorded entry at gates and reception
- Inconsistent guard presentation, punctuality or discipline
- Incidents that are not recorded, escalated or followed up
- Guards who do not understand the client's site, staff or procedures
Our proposed approach
We start with a site assessment, agree assignment instructions and post orders with you, and deploy officers who have completed our basic guarding course plus client-specific induction. Supervision and written reporting keep the service accountable.
What is included
Service components
Static guarding and gatehouse duties
Controlled entry and exit, vehicle and pedestrian checks, and key and visitor registers as agreed in the assignment instructions.
Front-office security officers
Presentable officers who greet and direct visitors while applying your reception and access procedures.
Patrols
Foot patrols of buildings, perimeters and car parks along routes and frequencies agreed with you.
Search and access control procedures
Consistent application of your search, visitor-pass and restricted-area rules.
Incident reporting
Occurrence book entries and written reports so that events are documented and escalated to the right people.
Tally officers and project managers
Dedicated officers for goods in and out, and security project managers for larger or multi-post deployments.
Operational and management considerations
- Recruitment includes physical and medical fitness tests, oral and written interviews, document verification and a two-week background vetting period.
- Officers complete a two-week basic guarding course, followed by two weeks of client-specific training.
- Supervision arrangements, reporting frequency and escalation contacts are agreed in writing before deployment.
Benefits
- Visible deterrent and a human point of contact
- Flexible: post hours and numbers set to your risk
- Combines well with CCTV and access control
Limitations to be aware of
- Coverage is limited to the posts and hours contracted
- Officers deter and report; they are not a substitute for police or emergency services
- Service quality depends on clear assignment instructions from both parties
Frequently asked questions
How many officers will my site need?
That depends on entrances, site size, operating hours and risk. We recommend numbers after a site assessment rather than quoting blind.
Can officers be trained for our specific procedures?
Yes. After the basic guarding course, officers receive customised training covering your site, SOPs, access control, emergency and evacuation procedures and any other topics you request.
Are officers vetted?
Our recruitment process includes document verification, referee checks and a two-week background vetting period before training and deployment.
